Gummi-Welz GmbH & Co. KG (GWU) was founded by Hans Welz in 1945 and was led by his daughter and son-in-law as a family-owned company until mid-2006. In June 2006, GWU was taken over by Equimax AG in the course of a corporate succession. Following that, GWU grew step by step into a modern, efficiently operating supplier company with an international customer base. In January 2008, the company moved from its Magirusstraße location in Ulm to a new production and administration facility in the industrial park Schwaighofen in Neu-Ulm that is perfectly equipped for a wide range of sophisticated manufacturing processes. At the same time, the Polish company Polytex was acquired as a Polish subsidiary now run under the name Gummi-Welz Poland (GWP) (
